Gifted and Talented

Being identified as gifted or highly gifted and talented (HGT) can be a double-edged sword. Children who are gifted often struggle in a traditional school setting, and this may cause a lot of strife for a family. HGT students can also be twice exceptional, which can compound issues in the classroom. It has become necessary for parents to advocate for their children in order to obtain an educational environment that supports them in all ways. These children need schools that are not only academically rigorous but also identify the social-emotional needs of gifted learners.

Front Range Educational Consulting helps parents navigate G&T programming to find the “best fit” program for the child – one that will support their needs for years to come. Jen Rigsby’s years of experience teaching with a high population of gifted learners bring a unique degree of understanding to the consultation to advise parents in finding their child a community where their interests are supported, curiosity is cultivated, and given the tools to thrive.

By the end of your consult, you will:

  • Understand the various gifted and talented programs in the area.

  • Advocate for your child(ren) in their current school.

  • Navigate the various district identification processes.

  • Be knowledgeable about the private options and their admissions protocols.

  • Understand the various social-emotional programming to support the academic rigor for a well rounded education.

What our clients are saying...

“My friends think having a HGT kid is a great thing. Yet, at times it can be really hard on my family.  My son was attending our high performing neighborhood school, but it was not the right place for him. Jen helped us identify the public and private options that would best serve our unique learner. I am so glad we invested the time with Jen to help out son be successful in and out of the classroom.”
